Gnevasheva V. A. Prerequisites and Prospects of Integrating the Market of Educational Services and the Labor Market in Russia

Abstract ♦ The article aims to identify the main points of the integration between the labor market and the market of the educational services of higher professional education.

The author traces the progress of modern professional education from its denigration to enhancing the integration between the educational services market and the labor market in order to train high-quality labor force which could be in demand under modern economic conditions on the market.

The article also outlines the problem of structural unemployment, defined as a consequence of deferred demand for labor as compared to the demand for programs in professional education by secondary school graduates.

An overview of a range of modern schemes of this integration is also provided, together with a detailed description of the opportunities and circumstances of its use. We argue that the labor market and the market of educational services should converge as far as possible in order to train and optimally use high-quality labor force and reduce structural unemployment.

We conclude by reaffirming the importance of the systemic approach in building integrative schemes for the convergence of both markets and in maximizing the capabilities of youth labor on the Russian labor market.
