The Editorial Council of the “Knowledge. Understanding. Skill” journal mourns over the death of Professor Robert Louis Belknap. He died early morning March 17th at 4:43 a.m.
It is very hard to comprehend that Robert Belknap is not with us anymore. For all of us, he was and will ever remain a terrific scholar, a brilliant teacher and an exceptional person — a gentleman in every sense of the word.
His contribution to Slavic and Dostoevsky studies is difficult to overestimate. He lived, worked and taught for the sake of the present and future of humankind.
We are sending our deepest condolences to his wife, children, grandchildren, relatives and friends, to his students, colleagues and everyone who was happy to meet him in person.
We will miss Robert; our hearts and thoughts will always be with him.
