Alumni Small Grants Program

The U.S. Embassy in Moscow will be accepting small grant applications on a rolling basis until September 1, 2009 or until funds are exhausted. Any alumni of U.S. Government exchange programs or organizations working with USG alumni are eligible to apply. Completed applications and questions must be addressed to usgalumni@gmail.com.

Priority consideration will be given to applicants who:

  • Work with an American Center or Corner to implement the grant
  • Work with an alumni association to implement the grant
  • Strengthen the alumni community

Contact information for American Centers and Corners as well as alumni associations can be found at http://moscow.usembassy.gov/alumni.html.

Priority will further be given to applicants who:

  • Cooperate with alumni from different programs to implement the grant
  • Are ineligible for alumni grants offered through implementing NGOs such as American Councils for International Education, IREX, or Fulbright Office
  • Demonstrate the wider community impact resulting from the grant activity
  • Propose budgets under $5,000.00

Grants may be used for a variety of projects, and creativity is encouraged from all applicants. Samples of projects that have been funded in the past include, but are not limited to:

  • Community service projects
  • Alumni association events
  • Training programs or conferences for professional colleagues and/or other alumni
  • Cultural events

  • Name(s) of alumni applicant(s)
  • Exchange program name and dates of participation for all applicants
  • Place of work and position of alumni applicant(s)
  • Email, phone numbers and mailing address of applicant(s)
  • List of previous grants received by applicant(s) (if any)
  • Project title
  • Summary of project (not to exceed one page)
  • Program goals, objectives, and tasks
  • Timeline for project implementation and completion
  • Partners (American Center or Corner, Alumni Association, other alumni, etc.) with their contact information
  • Budget
