The 8th Annual NY-St. Petersburg Institute of Linguistics, Cognition and Culture, (NYI 8), July 12–30, 2010We are delighted to inform you that the New York-St. Petersburg Institute of Linguistics, Cognition and Culture is now accepting applications for the 8th summer program in 2010!

As you may know, for the past seven years, NYI’s unique, non-profit educational program, a joint project of the State University of New York at Stony Brook and St. Petersburg State University, has attracted the best undergraduate and graduate students, and faculty in the areas of formal linguistics, cultural studies and cognitive psychology, fostering academic exchange and creating a circle of engaged specialists from Russia, the United States and Europe.

If you know about NYI and would like to help students who are interested in participating but do not yet know about us, you should consider the following steps:

1) Place an announcement for NYI 2010 on your website and at other Internet resources available to your students

p align="justify">2) Print out one or several of the NYI 2010 posters and post it on the information stands at your University. On our website, http://www.nyi.spb.ru, under “NYI Posters” you can find a print-ready file of the 2010 NYI poster (A3 format).

3) Inform your best-prepared students that at our website, http://www.nyi.spb.ru, under “Application Process”, they already have the opportunity to fill out an electronic application form for participation in NYI 8.
