Spirova E. M. Symbol in the Philosophical Heritage of P. A. Florensky

Abstract The author presents an attempt to give a comprehensive understanding of the conception of symbol in the philosophy of P. A. Florensky. It is noted that this conception is closely related to the general method of “concrete metaphysics”. The creative essence of symbol is pointed out. The significance of this conception for philosophical anthropology and philosophy of culture is shown.
