Abstract ◊ In terminological interpretation innovative economy is often compared to the knowledge economy, knowledge-based economy, post-industrial economy, etc. Sometimes they draw an analogy between these terms. The determining factor of public life in innovative economy is education that is displacing other, significant at the earlier stages, factors.

Keywords: innovative economy, factors of production, education, demand for education, education as an economic good, education as a social good.
