Ilinskiy I. M. The Choice of Russia: On the Results of the 2012 Russian Federation Presidential Election

Abstract ◊ On March 7, 2012 the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation officially accepted the results of the presidential election. According to them, the present Prime Minister of the RF Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin won with 63,6% of the votes and got ahead of the other candidates for the President of the RF significantly: the leader of the Communist Party of the RF Gennady Zyuganov (17,18% of the votes), self-nominated candidate Mikhail Prokhorov (7,98%), the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Vladimir Zhirinovsky (6,22%) and the leader of the party “A Just Russia” Sergey Mironov (3,85%). Among the people who became the election agents of a candidate for the place of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin there were many prominent public figures, representatives of higher educational institutions, including the rector of Moscow University for the Humanities, Doctor of Science (philosophy), professor, the President of the Union of the Nongovernmental Higher Education Institutions of Moscow and Moscow Region Igor Mikhailovich Ilinskiy. The editorial board of “Knowledge. Understanding. Skill” Journal decided to ask Igor Mikhailovich a few questions in order to clear up his viewpoint in regard to the nation-wide choice of Russia.
