Abstract ◊ The article analyzes the breach issues of the political elites of the republics of the North Caucasus: clannishness, the features of interrelation with Moscow, the leaders’ belonging to various tribal unities. All of these problems complicate the present-day political life of the republics and have an impact on the geopolitical processes in the region..
