Abstract ♦ The article deals with the questions of the numbers of Soviet and German prisoners of war during the Great Patriotic War. The author makes a comparative analysis, improves the accuracy of the results of some studies of Russian and foreign historians and gives grounds to his standpoint in the controversial issues.
